Change over was completed within a 19-day outage in December 2017.

The tight time frame resulted in great care required to protect the concrete basin during removal of the cooling tower. This was further complicated that the fill section had collapsed areas and was heavily fouled with the section weighing three and half times the as new construction. This meant that the lower beam structure had to remain intact and the section lifted directly off the anchor bolts. This had to be carefully managed by holding the lift to adjust chain blocks to correct the deflected form and stop the structure catching on the anchor bolts.
